How the RiskTaker Build Process Works

From platform selection to configurator, quote review, deposit, and production.

RiskTaker builds American-made crosskart, super crosskart, super truggy, and race vehicle platforms for serious builders, racers, teams, and facilities. The process starts with choosing the right platform and submitting a build request so we can match your goals, experience level, budget, and intended competition use to the right next step.

The Build Process

Step 1

Compare the Platforms

Start by reviewing the FX750, FX10R, RTX-0, and RTX-T platforms. Each model is built for a different buyer, power level, and use case.

Compare Platforms

Step 2

Start Your Build Request

Submit the Start Your Build form with your preferred platform, build level, budget, timeline, and intended use. This creates the starting point for your build profile.

Step 3

Access the Right Configurator

After your request is submitted, you are routed to the correct platform configurator or next-step process. Returning customers can access available configurators through the customer account flow.

Step 4

Configure Your Build

Select your package, options, components, and available upgrades. The configurator helps organize your build details before quote review.

Step 5

Review Quote, Timeline & Availability

RiskTaker reviews your requested configuration, confirms build scope, verifies pricing, checks material availability, and discusses expected production timing before the build is accepted.

Step 6

Refundable Build Deposit

If approved, a $500 build reservation deposit may be required to reserve your build slot. The deposit may be refundable if RiskTaker and the customer cannot agree on final scope, pricing, or timeline; non-recoverable payment processing fees may apply. Once final build scope is approved and production payments are made, payments are generally non-refundable. See the Policies page for full deposit terms. Final pricing is confirmed in a detailed quote review before production begins.

Step 7

Production & Final Coordination

Once accepted, the build moves into production planning. Final assembly level, required customer-supplied items, pickup/shipping details, and support needs are coordinated based on the selected build level.

Choose the Right Build Level

RiskTaker offers multiple build levels depending on the platform. Some customers want plans or a chassis kit. Others want a roller, race roller, or complete closed-course race vehicle.

Note: Not every platform offers every build level. RTX-0 does not offer Roller, Race Roller, or Complete Race Vehicle options.

Digital Plans

Available for select builder-focused platforms. Best for experienced fabricators who want to build from drawings and source or fabricate their own components.

Builder Chassis — Unwelded Kit

CNC-cut, coped, and bent tubes ready for customer welding and assembly. Best for experienced welders and fabricators.

Builder Chassis — Welded

A welded chassis foundation for builders who want RiskTaker to complete the primary frame structure before they handle the rest of the build.

Builder Chassis — Welded With Mounting Provisions

A welded chassis with suspension, steering, and component mounting provisions installed. Best for customers who want a stronger head start.

Roller

A rolling chassis package with major suspension, steering, brake, wheel, tire, and hardware components included. Best for builders ready to add drivetrain and systems.

Race Roller

A higher-completion package that adds body/protection panels where applicable, interior panels, cooling, fuel system, seat, belts, dash, shifter, braking upgrades, and engine mount support depending on the platform.

Complete Race Vehicle

The highest available completion level on select platforms. Includes additional assembly such as engine sourcing/install, exhaust fabrication, wiring, and powder coating where applicable. Final alignment, fluids, tuning, setup, and sanctioning-body compliance remain customer responsibilities unless separately agreed.

Complete race vehicles are built for closed-course racing and off-road competition use only. They are not intended, certified, or sold for street or highway use.

What Happens After You Submit

Submitting a build request does not automatically guarantee acceptance, final pricing, or a production slot. It gives RiskTaker the information needed to review your goals and route you correctly.

Stage 1

Review

We review platform choice, build level, intended use, budget, timeline, and customer responsibilities.

Stage 2

Quote

We confirm build scope, options, current material costs, availability, estimated timeline, and any customer-supplied items.

Stage 3

Reservation

If the build is approved, the $500 build reservation deposit reserves your build slot. Deposit terms — including when the deposit may be refundable — are shown on the Policies page.

Parts, Service & Support

RiskTaker also supports customers through platform-specific replacement and service parts, the Parts Catalog, and the Parts Help form. Availability may vary by model and production schedule.

Important Build Notes

Final pricing is confirmed during quote review.

Material costs are subject to market conditions.

Build timelines are reviewed before production acceptance.

Some platforms and tiers require customer-supplied drivetrain components.

RTX-0 is builder-focused and does not offer Roller, Race Roller, or Complete Race Vehicle packages.

RTX-T full truck body is in active development; current applicable packages use functional protection sheet metal until the body package is released.

Customers are responsible for vehicle inspection, safety equipment, setup, and compliance with local regulations and sanctioning body rules.

Competition Use Only

All RiskTaker vehicles are manufactured and sold for off-road competition use only. Not manufactured for use on public streets, roads, or highways. Buyer assumes all responsibility for vehicle assembly, inspection, safety equipment, and compliance with local regulations and sanctioning body requirements.
